rose weasley was very particular about her study space. she could never study on her bed, it was far too inviting towards sleep, and the gryffindor common room was more boisterous than most, even in the middle of the night, so the library or the great hall had always been her chosen places. except those too were, in the best of times, full of people and by consequence distractions. while october came and everyone was done using september to settle in and getting into their classes, rose's favourite study spots became more and more crowded. while it was nice to know that most people were starting to get into their studies as much as she was, or at least climbing towards her level of studiousness, it was irksome now that they were starting to group up around tables and whisper about essays and lessons from previous days. most of the time, they weren't loud, but the noise was constant and enough to scratch in the back of rose's mind, so much so that this sunday afternoon she'd walked right into the library, then turned and walked straight out.
for a moment she'd thought about venturing out and finding one of her little nooks to hull up into for the rest of the afternoon, but she knew that she was going to need at least a few books to get this assignment done and couldn't venture very far. rose was in a bit of a pickle. or at least she was before she dropped all her things on the floor in the hall outside the library and started spreading her charts and notes out all about the carpter, effectively blocking most of the hallway. she was fairly sure she was breaking some kind of rule, but honestly, no one was going to stop her. it was much more comfortable laying on her stomach anyway, rather than sitting on one of the old, bumpy chairs in the library or having a family member tugging on her braids in the common room. rose quickly decided she was going to start using floor space more often, looking over at her mess with quiet contentment, happy to be able to finally see everything and not have to make sure nothing fell off a table or got lost in a huge pile of parchment.
the only real problem came when she heard footsteps coming down the hallway and bit her lip, not entirely sure whether she should clean up a path or if they could navigate through her mess without ruining it. she hadn't decided when she heard the footsteps stop and took a moment to stretch her upper body and look up from her notes. "erm ... sorry about the mess ..." she said sheepishly, biting her bottom lip. "it's just loud in there," she pointed at the door to the library, trying in vain to explain her skewed rationality. "i'll just ... i'll just move ... some stuff..." she trailed off, trying to move her stuff around, mixing it up and huffing at herself when it got out of order. "humpf."
words; 500-ish outfit; hurr notes; omg it's so bad i don't even know what's going on here and it's long and rambly so ignore that
