LOUISADARLENEGOLDMAN
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
NAME: louisa darlene goldman
AGE: seventeen
HOUSE: hufflepuff
BLOOD STATUS: muggleborn
WAND: eight inches, willow, unicorn tail hair------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
PLAY-BY: dianna agron
GENERAL APPEARANCE: louisa's always been perfectly happy with her appearance. she inherited a straight nose and eyes that weren't too close together. generally pleasant and appealing. except for one small problem. she's horribly, terribly short. and short people are very rarely intimidating. up until recently, being intimidating was never something she was too terribly concerned about. but trying to do her duties as prefect, and now, as head girl, without the element of intimidation? well, it's a bit of a nightmare.
but oh well. other than that minor problem, louisa's not bad to look at. she's nothing particularly special, but, as in every aspect of her life, louisa is an overachiever when it comes to her appearance. she washes her hair obsessively, and she's gotten quite good at twisting it into the most impossible shapes over the years. although she believes uniforms crush creativity and individuality, louisa would rather die than break the rules. so she's gotten used to them, and has found her own way to spice them up over her seven years at hogwarts.------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
LIKES: sundresses, hot tea, plants, rainstorms, butterbeer, astronomy, herbology, potions, getting up early, having lots to do
DISLIKES: the school uniform, black coffee, snow, laziness, being bored, care of magical creatures, transfiguration
GOALS: to have children
FEARS: failure, the dark
PERSONALITY: louisa is just about the most compassionate person you'll ever meet. she's that girl that knows exactly what's going on with everyone. she'll always ask about how your potions exam went, how your mother's illness is going, whether or not you finished that transfiguration essay you were talking about yesterday. she makes it her business to know everything about everyone. consequently, all she ends up doing is worrying about everyone around her. she's very much concerned with the welfare of others more so than her own.
true to her status as a hufflepuff, louisa works harder than a pack mule. although she's not terribly smart by any means, she's the classic case of an overachiever, and often pushes herself way past her limits. she's involved in pretty much any club she possibly can be, and tries her best to tutor students in her free time. because, to be honest, louisa's just really antsy. she can never sit still, and is very very easily bored. give her free time and she'll find something to fill it with.
she's constantly exhausted, but couldn't be happier; louisa is an optimist. she prefers to see every glass as half full. this causes her to be overly naive when it comes to judging the character of others. she tends to let people get away with things, assuming that they'll try their best to do better next time. her trust is easy to earn and hard to lose. she actively seeks out excuses to give people second chances.
there's a reason louisa wasn't placed in gryffindor. she's very easily frightened. especially of the dark, and large monsters. she'll try her best to stand up to bullies for the sake of the first years she protects, and for the honor of her head girl badge, but really, she's shaking in her knickers. she doesn't have a strong will or a need to dominate people.
oh, and she's also the definition of a geek. she's obsessed with muggle science fiction and will blab about it to anyone who will listen. she loves muggle music, muggle fashion, muggle everything. probably because she's a muggleborn, and it makes her really homesick to be around nothing but wizards and witches for nine months out of the year.------------------------------------------------------------------

CLOSE FAMILY:
HISTORY: louisa darlene goldman was the third child and first daughter of the goldmans, two muggles who'd met speed-dating and settled in lower surrey. she was her mother's pride and joy, and, despite her mother's best efforts to make her a lady, louisa grew up chasing her three brothers around and rolling around in the mud.
she was the perfect student when she entered grade one. she loved freshly-sharpened pencils and that new book smell. her teachers loved her, and they could hardly believe she was related to her more rambunctious older brothers. when she was eleven, however, everything changed. a strange man came to the goldman's door and told the two that their daughter was a witch and she was being invited to attend a special school for people like her.
louisa's parents thought it was a hoax. they threw the man out and forbid the children to speak about it. it was only after the man came back, pulled out a stick of wood, and subsequently set the dining room table on fire that they agreed to listen to reason. or, listen to madness, in their opinion.
either way, louisa was sent off to hogwarts that september. she was completely terrifed on the train, never having been away from her brothers before. once at the castle, she was sorted into hufflepuff, and began to make her mark on the school. to avoid homesickness, she made herself as busy as it was possible to be. she joined every club she could find, helped out teachers in her spare time, and spent time tutoring other first years.
she tried out for the quidditch team in her fourth year and earned one of the beater spots. granted, the hufflepuff team hasn't one the cup in a few years, but louisa tries her best. a year later, she recieved her prefects badge in the mail, and spent her evenings patrolling hallways and such. this summer, she recieved a letter with her supplies list that informed her she'd been chosen to be head girl. with all her extra duties, louisa is busier (and happier) than ever.------------------------------------------------------------------

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:hanna tended to have an opinion about everything. and she had a rather traditional idea of what young men should be doing with their time. and that view did not consist of them hanging out with practically-middle-aged women. they were supposed to be out at bars, drinking, and having the time of their lives. jacob especially. he was a good guy, and hanna would hate to see him wasting his life worrying about her. she'd tried to set him up on multiple occasions. once with a lady from her book club. and the other time with someone from her grief support group. he hadn't spoken about either encounter, so she'd assumed they hadn't gone too terribly well.
she couldn't lie though, it was nice to have him around. he always knew exactly how to act around the boys. and they adored him and were constantly badgering him to go play catch with them. even teddy had taken a liking to playing catch with jacob, which was surprising, considering he was the only one of the three who actually remembered his father. in fact, he'd taken an instant dislike to any man that came around the house since his father passed. hanna always called him her knight in shining armor. but, thank god, he approved of jacob.
and she often wondered what exactly they thought of jacob. he'd been around far too long and far too often to be just a family friend anymore. in fact, he seemed more like a member of the family when it really came down to it. so much that he'd even popped in at christmas, and hanna had even spent an entire afternoon that winter knitting him a sweater. the only people in her life who were worthy of her awful knitted sweaters were her three boys. she wondered if her kids saw him as an uncle-type relation. but the only uncle they really knew whas their uncle chuck, and he was the exact opposite of jacob. she always ended up coming to a dead end. jacob was just jacob, and as long as her kids were cool with that, she was too.
hanna rolled her eyes at him, tossing her notebook and pen on the counter and pulling a fresh bottle of red wine out of the wine cabinet and going to work getting the cork out of it. "really, you should've arrested me ages ago," she answered, flashing him a smile. "people might start to think you're going soft, mister." she wasn't sure why exactly the weedle house still had a wine cabinet, considering she was the only one drinking in the house. but it'd been one of a host of wedding gifts from her very wealthy in-laws. and she'd never had the heart to get rid of it. "hell, even i don't understand science fiction," she answered with a laugh. stopping her efforts to wreste the cork from the bottle to slide the notebook across the counter towards him. "see? it's a total piece of shit. my creative juices haven't been flowing since monday." after a bit more of a struggle, she finally got the cork out with a jubilant exclamation.
and then she set to work on the glasses, standing on her tiptoes to reach for them in the cabinet over the fridge. even though she could never reach them, she'd never had the heart to move them after her husband died; he'd always had to get them down for her and everytime she had to move a stool to get them, she thought of him.
