------------------------------------------------------------------
NAME: rose ginevra weasley
AGE: sixteen
HOUSE: gryffindor
BLOOD STATUS: halfblood
WAND: seven inches, ash, unicorn tail hair------------------------------------------------------------------

PLAY-BY: emily browning
GENERAL APPEARANCE: the biggest problem Rose has ever had about her appearance is her hair. It started off like her father’s fiery red, then started to darken to her mother’s brown, before finally deciding on a mixture of the two in a deeper auburn. altogether, Rose is rather proud of her hair; mostly her mother in that aspect, though it still has some of her father’s Weasley heritage at the same time. she has the freckles to match the hair, though they’re scattered along her face and around her nose, they aren’t as dark and pronounced as some others in her family. she’s taken after her mother’s smaller, average build though she’s still growing and is quite a bit shorter than her mother stands. Rose, unfortunately, hit puberty rather late and is still growing into her awkwardly long limbs and trying to figure out the whole ‘growth’ spurt thing. despite her uneasiness in her steadily growing body, she’s a bit difficult to ignore, quite simply for the fact that she has a commanding presence. she has quite a unique look about her; the wide faced, big lipped, freckled innocence thing she has going for her is well-representative of her personality, but deceptive at the same time.------------------------------------------------------------------

LIKES: reading, learning, making people happy, being in control of situations, the smell of old books, quidditch sweets, the chuddley canons, homecooking, being challenged, wizard and muggle chess, etc.
DISLIKES: detention, distractions, the feeling of not knowing, being kept out of the loop, getting in trouble, tomatos, pumpkin juice, being compared to her parents, etc.
GOALS: graduate top of her class, play quidditch professionally, become a healer, be able to compare her success to that of her parents, leave her own mark by doing something good for the world, and not just be known as the daughter of Ron and Hermione, keep the people around her happy and proud of her, etc.
FEARS: being useless, losing the people she loves, failure and disappointing people, not living up to expectations, losing control of things, getting things wrong, drowning, etc.
PERSONALITY: Rose has inherited much from her mother, and not only looks. like her mother, Rose craves knowledge; she has a thirst that just can’t seem to be quenched when it comes to words and reading. She is an exceptional student, and has always tries her best in class, always the first to finish her exams, and tests, and the one student that knows all the answers to everything that the teacher is asking. she is constantly reading and studying whenever she gets the chance, because it doesn't come easy to her. she has to throw herself completely into her studies to keep up with the standards that her mother put up for her, and even then, she doesn't always succeed in meeting them. and she hates disappointing people, especially her parents.
rose, like her father, is more than a little competitive. she hates losing at things, whether it be a friendly game of chess or something larger like quidditch and rankings in school. she can be very aggressive when faced with a challenge and throws herself into winning completely, so much that it consumes her rational mind at times. a friendly reminder that it isn't everything usually snaps her out of her tunnel vision though, so it's not always that bad. likewise, she can be very diligent and precise at all times; she’s a bit of a perfectionist. every once in a while she gets a little bossy and controlling, and should always be listened to or she may go off. she respects other peoples’ opinions, and if they’re better, she’ll go with that, but if her way is the best, you’ll know it, and you should go along with it.
Rose is a superficially friendly person, meaning she'll willingly talk to everyone and anyone, but it takes quite a bit to get her to open up. she doesn't trust people easily, but once you get part that, she's a fiercely loyal friend and will always stand by your side no matter what. she will do anything for a friend or family, or even someone who deserves something good to be done for them. she’s a very smiley person, and she loves to make other people happy, and even goes out of her way to do it. if someone’s sad or hurting, Rose is usually the first one to go and comfort them. she doesn’t like to see people hurting, and carries an aura of soft happiness and sereness around her. she is very respectful to her elders, and does her best to never get involved in things that will get her in trouble, though she sometimes gets dragged into it because her family and friends can convince her to do almost anything.------------------------------------------------------------------

CLOSE FAMILY:
Hermione Jean Weasley-Granger - mother
Ronald Billius Weasley - father
Hugo --- Weasley - brother
HISTORY: Rose Ginevra Weasley was the first born child of Hermione and Ronald Weasley. she was born on a warm summer day in 2006, and was born with her father’s flaming red hair. she was a sweet-looking child, with big, wide blue-green eyes, and she was loved by her family. As she grew though, she lost her most of the red of her father’s hair colour, and her hair slowly darkened to something similar to that of her mother, though it made her father happy that, in the right light, her hair would have a red tinge to it. Rosie grew very close to her father, and she would always be a daddy’s girl, even if she acted more like her mother. she was happy when her younger brother came, though she was a little jealous of all the attention he received, but she learned to live with it, in such a large family, some were bound to get more than others. she was a very intelligent and curious child, always asking questions and reading as soon as she had been taught.
just like they did with the rest of the children, her father and uncles had tried to teach her to fly, but her natural clumsiness didn’t help her, and she fell off her broom the first time she'd tried. but she was a persistent little thing and demanded to be put right up there with the rest of them. she got on the broom expecting to master it with no problem, considering the ableness of her family, but was surprised when she just couldn’t stay on. she'd practiced with her father for days before she'd been able to get a few feet off the ground comfortably, and resolved to the fact that she'd have a small leg-up on the rest of her class when she got to school, able to do that. the look of pride in her father's eyes let her her know that quidditch was going to be a big part of her future, and even though it was obvious she'd never have a beater's build, her father readily explained all the positions, asking her to pick just one and stick to it. unfortunately, she didn't like the idea of being keeper like her father had been and having to watch numerous balls at once; no, she'd liked the idea of seeker much better, just like her uncle Harry.
when she turned eleven, she expectantly waited for her letter from Hogwarts on the front stoop of the Weasley-Granger home. she was happy, but not surprised when she finally got it. she was anxious and a little nervous on the trip over to Kings’ Cross station, but it was quickly relieved by the sight of her cousin Albus, whom she knew she would be attending school with. Albus and herself had always been a little closer than their other cousins, due to their ages and the fact that they did just get along well. they had both shared a fear of which house they would be sorted into, Albus fearing Slytherin, and Rose not wanting to be in Ravenclaw. she wanted to make her parents proud and be sorted in the same house that they had both been in during their years. When the hat had been placed on her head, all she thought of was ‘Gryffindor, Gryffindor, Gryffindor.’ However the Sorting Hat did not orignally comply with her wishes, and made a few quips about she and her mother both, and how it would not make a mistake like her mother again. unexpectedly, the little Weasley spat out a few words at the Hat, and had briefly showed her daring and bravery, and was so placed in Gryffindor, grinning the whole way to the table.
through her years, Rose had become a loved and admired student, for her intelligence, bravery and compassion toward others. some teachers adored her, though others did not appreciate her ready remarks and occasional sarcastic comments whispered to her companions. she quickly built a name for herself, though to nearly everyone, she was just the child of two-thirds of the Goldren Trio. the largest fear that consummed Rose was the fact that she'd never be able to let that particular title go, and so she'd eagerly thrown herself into her studies, trying to rival, and even attempted to surpass her mother's grades, and into quidditch, trying to win more games than her father. she'd already missed out on the opportunity to be a prefect like her mother, but contented herself in doing other things, knowing that doing rounds and keeping track of other students would just add more to the plate, adding more stress that she really didn't need. with two more years to go, she's incessantly trying to meet the standards her parents had created, even unknowingly, though she's obviously taken on more than she can handle and is quickly burning herself out.------------------------------------------------------------------

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:The library was as much of a home to Rose that her actual home was. For some odd reason, she felt more comfortable here than with other actual people, most of the time. The books couldn’t lie, the books weren’t the source of drama or gossip, well they could be, but not normally. And books couldn’t laugh and tease you. The books didn’t judge, they stayed the same no matter who read them. That was what Rose loved the most about them, for everyone, the books were the same, though some find different meaning in the words, the words are still the same. Never changing. Always consistently there. The words couldn’t lie, only the authors did. There was something in them that made Rose crave more and more, and kept her coming back to them over and over again. She could read a book a hundred times, and still discover something new every time her eyes looked over the page. Words could mean so many things, they could say so much, there was just no way that Rose could ever get sick of them.
Although that was the way she felt, she knew that others didn’t feel the same, so she wasn’t surprised when Cindy agreed to her help. Some people, she knew, just didn’t like reading, or found it completely boring. Rose didn’t quite understand how something so interesting, intriguing and demanding could be boring, but she wasn’t one to judge or force her opinions on people, even though she thought that they were sometimes better. She could spend hours and hours in these aisles, and lose herself completely. It was odd though, that was the same feeling that she had heard some of her cousins talking about, but they were referring to their Quidditch games, and how completely engrossed they could become in them. She couldn’t wrap her mind around the fact that some people could get the same feeling flying, that she got from a good book with a solid plot with interesting characters. The only feelings Rose got from flying were terror, and usually a sore behind.
Rose gave Cindy a small smile that held a little bit of pity. She knew that Cindy wasn’t a fan of studying, or libraries, and that this really wasn’t where she wanted to be right now. Rose could compare it to what would happen if someone had dropped her in the middle of a Quidditch pitch with a broom; she’d have no idea what to do first. Of course Rosie was a good Weasley and learnt all there was to know about the game, but when it came to playing, she had no idea where to start. Probably what Cindy was feeling right now. And she knew that if she had been dumped in a pitch, Cindy would be doing the same thing for her that she was doing for Cindy now. “Potions,” Rose repeated and nodded at the same time. She couldn’t say that she liked their potions professor, he was a little too... odd, for her tastes, and she had heard stories about him from Victoire. It was an intriguing subject, Rose could admit, and she did well in it, but some times the teacher could just turn a student all.
Out of respect for her friend, Rose held in her laughter as Cindy ranted. Everything she was saying made complete sense to Rosie, even if she didn’t agree with it. Rose had the peculiar gift of seeing every side to each situation, not matter what the situation. She couldn’t help it, she let out a soft chuckle. Cindy was just going off, something Rose was sure she’d never do about flying lessons. “Come on Cindy, who knows, maybe one day you’ll want to put a princess to sleep and steal her man,” Rose giggled and stuck out her tongue. But in her mind, she was reciting the exact measurements and the whole process of making an adequate batch of the Draught of Living Death, along with citing all of the moral and immoral uses of unicorn blood.
