GENERAL APPEARANCE:
(this changes constantly, as Nolan is a metamorphmagus)
Normally, Nolan prefers to make himself as cute as possible. His hair is typically dark brown, and relatively short and thick. His eyes are a deep blue, and are set relatively deep in his face. Typically, he is blushing constantly, and has a relatively tan complexion. He also quite enjoys his 5 o' clock shadow. As for his physique, Nolan could be described as...muscular, but squishy-looking. He's like a cherub. But with next to no fat. He's relatively tall, standing at six feet, four inches.------------------------------------------------------------------

+ Swords
+ Secret societies

+ Choral music
+ Pianos

DISLIKES:
- Coffee

- Seers
- People who have an AB- blood type
- Libraries
- Transfiguration (he's good at it. it's just boring)
- Veela
- Apparently mean-spirited people (you'll see what this means later)
- People who wear too much make-up
GOALS:
Nolan has a dream of forming a secret order outside of the government with no ties or even knowledge from the government. Largely because he likes secret societies and he has a bit of a "fuq the police" personality.
His other goal is to get a phoenix, which he's completed half by sheer luck and half because it was his birthday present.
FEARS:
Nolan has a fear of breaking up. He doesn't like endings, and he certainly doesn't like to hurt people.
PERSONALITY:
HYPER-INTELLIGENT - As with most Ravenclaws, Nolan is super duper smart. He has tons and tons of books (by Muggles, weirdly) on physics and arithmetic and the like. He has a very high understanding of theoretical physics, and has a habit of slipping into these thoughts when he's bored. It's not uncommon for him to have a notebook filled with complicated diagrams and tiny handwriting on what's supposedly happening.
DISTRACTABLE - Nolan's a little bit off in the head. Though not necessarily crazy, his mind works in a very strange way. You could be talking about the history of England, and he'd probably find some way to relate it to something entirely off-topic like the spectrum of light or something else that's entirely abstract. Long story short, Nolan has a very low attention span if he's not interested in the topic or devoted to the person speaking.
KIND-HEARTED - The way Nolan sees the world, no one deserves to be picked on or insulted or discluded because of their past or past mistakes. He sees every day as a new day and a new beginning. As such, Nolan has grown relatively kind towards everyone. He's very much against people who are unkind to others. However, this is refreshed every day. Someone who is mean one day is, until they show it again, nice the very next day. He tends to be kind to people who are hated and shun people who hate them.
DISTRUSTING - Nolan, as kind as he is, can never trust people instantly. Some people are known for being able to tell people everything as soon as they meet them, but it could take months before you get Nolan to open up to you. He generally takes a very long time to trust or even like people.
ATTENTIVE - Nolan is extremely good at listening to other people's troubles and giving advice if nothing else. He might seem like a brick wall when you talk to him, but that's either because he's zoned out or he's listening very carefully. It all depends on the situation, really.
QUIET - Nolan is super-quiet. He hardly talks if he can, and when he does it's very quiet. He hates loud noises, and as such has grown into the habit of covering people's mouths when they speak too loudly. As far as he's concerned, five feet is whispering distance. Inside voices.------------------------------------------------------------------

HISTORY:
THE BEGINNING
Nolan was born to a somewhat average Wizarding family; one in a Ministry job, one working elsewhere, neither having a terribly large amount of time for being home except for at night. Of course, they were hoping Nolan would do great things - be a Quidditch star, have some outstanding talent, etc., etc.. They got part of their wish - Nolan was a Metamorphmagus, meaning he could change his appearance at will. For a month or so, they stayed at home to be with their son, and then took shifts - one week home, one week working - so that they could actually have jobs and lives and raise their child.
As such, Nolan grew up (as this continued throughout the rest of his life until school) with constant fluctuation and change around him, and learned to be relatively apathetic to sudden changes in environment, company, topic, etc.. Of course, the very year before his first year of school, he tried to ride his first broomstick. Tried. It had been in bad shape, as Mr. Carterson had borrowed it used from one of his friends, and they neglected to keep it in shape. So on a day where Nolan's mother worked, Mr. Carterson took his son outside to ride a broomstick. Being a relatively good flier himself, he expected Nolan to be the same way.
Well, too bad. Because he wasn't. In fact, Mr. Carterson hadn't been aware of how bad the broom was, and was thoroughly surprised - to the point where he couldn't even help Nolan - when Nolan flew up high, and plummeted down as the hovering charm broke. Mr. Carterson, of course being too shocked to help, could only watch as his son's arms both broke, and he was forced to take Nolan to St. Mungo's for healing. Obviously, Mrs. Carterson was full-blown P-O'd and she had Nolan stay at his grandparent's house until the school year began.
FINALLY EDUCATED
Nolan's first year of education at Hogwarts was...informative to say the least. Meaning he began, only then, to learn just how mean some people could be. Really, Nolan had never heard more rudeness, more anger, and more hate than his first year. He was thoroughly surprised. Nolan, of course, couldn't pay attention to the good things, because the bad stood out much more than anything else. Of course no one was rude to him except for other first years. It was sort of a rule.
Nolan's second year was much the same, only with somewhat more difficult classes. Third and fourth year were exactly the same. It was Nolan's fifth year of school where things finally got a bit interesting.
A CHANGE OF HEART
Ah, teenage years. For Nolan, fifteen was a big year. It was the year of his sexuality discovery, his first kiss, his first boyfriend, his first dance, a ton of things. His first boyfriend, a Ravenclaw by the name of Brandyn Storm, was a quiet, but ambitious boy. Exactly Nolan's type. They dated for the entire year and broke up during the summer because Brandyn was getting too many weird looks for him to handle. And now we've caught up to the present; Nolan's in school, Brandyn's in school, everything's normal.------------------------------------------------------------------

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:Fifth year at Hogwarts, and the first dance he'd ever been able to attend, Nolan was unreasonably nervous. This was the first real date he'd ever been on with his boyfriend, Brandyn. With a Y, Nolan thought to himself as he stared into the mirror. On appearance, Nolan hadn't changed much. He still had his rosy cheeks, sparkling blue eyes, and dark, curly hair. However, he was in a tux, from the black bow tie to the shiny shoes. Honestly, Nolan had rebelled when his parents had gotten him this outfit. He had said he felt like a prestigious prick, and that Brandyn might be turned away from him, as prestige and being an ass were two things that he felt should be punishable by death.
Yet here Nolan was, in front of a mirror in the Ravenclaw boy's bathroom, straightening his tie. Brandyn had run off to the prefect's bathroom, as he was the male prefect for the fifth years. Nolan already missed him, but knew that it wasn't far from the dance now. He'd only been dating Brandyn for about a month or two, but Nolan felt like he couldn't leave Brandyn. It was love, as he'd told himself. To Nolan, love was a chemical reaction in the brain when you met eyes or made other contact with a person you felt attracted to. But he'd come to realize that it was less like a reaction and more like a flame. Because from the instant he'd set eyes on Brandyn, he'd felt so warm and happy and buoyant. He'd spent the last few months with a big smile on his face, whenever he thought of Brandyn. Which was all the time.
An announcement rang from the fireplace in the common room that it was time for the dance. Taking one fearful look at his reflection, Nolan whispered; "I can do this." Putting on a confident smile and keeping his back straight, chin down, perfect posture, he walked out of the bathroom, out of the common room, down the ever-moving stairs, and into the Great Hall. The theme this dance was "Muggles," and so the headmaster had booked the Weird Sisters - who, evidently, were masters of vocal and physical Transfiguration - to play Muggle rock and pop music from a few years ago. As such, all who attended - even the few Slytherins that did - were required to wear something of Muggle fashion that wasn't casual.
Nolan thought that the decorations were very funny. Along all of the walls, there were the flags of the various countries and such, with coats of arms, shields designed for their countries, and things from all over the place. "A better theme name would be 'international'," Nolan murmured to himself, staring at the electric lights above and the wires and such hanging from the ceiling like tapestries. Nolan knew that Muggle technology - cellular devices, televisions, etc. - went haywire when they were around Hogwarts or any extreme levels of magic. No doubt that these were just conjured illusions, here for tonight and tonight only.
"You know, you look great when you're alone," a voice said behind Nolan, and he felt arms wrap around his waist, taking his hands in theirs. "Bran!" Nolan exclaimed, twisting around and throwing his arms around Brandyn. Brandyn had a huge smile on his face, and he was wearing a tux much like the one Nolan was wearing, but in navy blue rather than solid black. His bow tie was bright red, and he seemed to stand out from the ocean of black-clad men around Nolan. Smiling, Nolan straightened Brandyn's bow tie and stroked his cheek. Nolan was a tad taller than Brandyn was, but he was so much more timid. Even now, Nolan felt slightly abashed as he looked into Brandyn's brown eyes.
"Y'know," Nolan whispered in his ear. "I really don't deserve you." Brandyn threw his head back in laughter and put his hands around Nolan's waist again. "Can it," Brandyn commanded. Rolling his eyes, Nolan pointed his wand at a random cup and it turned into a tin can of beans. Once more, Brandyn roared with laughter and grabbed Nolan's hand, walking him over to the buffet tables, which served the students according to their wishes. As far as Nolan was concerned, tonight was a real, true date, and he would treat it as such. So he went to a golden table with Brandyn leading him gently with a hand on his upper arm.
Brandyn had, of course, asked for a McDonald's cheeseburger, with all of his grand amount of class. This stirred up a small chuckle from Nolan, but nothing more. "C'mon," Brandyn said with his mouth full. "Have a little fun!" With that, he poked Nolan's nose with a little gold fork that had been set for him. The next twenty minutes were filled with Brandyn's increasingly more inappropriate jokes, Nolan trying to have intelligent conversation, and more inappropriate jokes. This was why Nolan loved Brandyn. Because he knew exactly what to do and say to make Nolan feel incredible and happy. Sure, Nolan wasn't a huge fan of the jokes he told, but Brandyn was Brandyn, and Nolan wouldn't have him any other way.
Brandyn, hearing the music change from a Foo Fighter's song to Christina Perri's A Thousand Years, immediately grabbed Nolan's hand, pulled him to the dance floor, and put his arms around Nolan's neck. The slow dance of the night, Nolan thought with a shred of fear. Slow dances were always a bit gross to Nolan. They implied superb affection, and almost always making out and tons of kissing. Nolan definitely wanted to kiss Brandyn - definitely wanted to do it for the entirety of his life - but not because of some mob mentality. For a while, they simply danced, staring silently, intently into each other's eyes. Nolan had never seen Brandyn quite so concentrated, never seen him focus on one thing more in his life.
As the song reached the words "One step closer," Nolan felt Brandyn shift, doing exactly that, stepping, abnormally shyly, closer to Nolan. The music rose with Brandyn's face, with his sheepish smile, and their lips met. Nolan knew this kiss wasn't because of mob mentality or anything. It was done because Brandyn wanted to do it. Because he wanted Nolan. When they broke apart, Brandyn looked into Nolan's eyes intently again. "Was that...?" he asked. Nolan knew what he meant. "Yeah...and you?" Brandyn nodded. First kiss, Nolan thought, mentally checking that off. The two boys stared at each other for another moment and their lips met again. They did not part for quite a while, and the kisses were slow, tender, loving. Not like the mauling that seemed to be going on around them.
The rest of the night was spent with the two, in their own little world, kissing and laughing and being happy.
